Application
The long stroke unit is a rugged stationary vertical structure utilizing a gear reducer to operate a lower sprocket connected to a chain and an internal sliding traversing mechanism. This mechanism drives the vertical and horizontal movement of a counterweight box -- up and down inside the long stroke tower. The counterweight is connected to a heavy-duty woven belt carcass which connects to a sucker rod positive displacement lift system.
As such, it provides a longer and slower stroke that reduces pump cycles while producing higher pump fill age rates per stroke and higher volumetric efficiency.
Features and Benefits
▶ The Long pumping unit enables the transition to reciprocating rod-lift earlier in the production life cycle
▶ Unit arrives at the wellsite 90% preassembled for quick setup
▶ Efficient unit geometry requires less torque and reduces power usage by 15 to 40%
▶ Speed sentry monitors and records all pumping events
▶ Platform and rear-access doors above the gear reducer provide access away from the load belt for efficient maintenance
▶ Platform kick plates and grate prevent dropped objects and slips
▶ Ladder system enables easy access to critical components Large maintenance doors eliminate confined space issues and enable simplified maintenance; large front platform enables easy access to load counterweights.
▶ Integrated hydraulic rollback system moves the unit at least 12 ft (3.6 m) away from the wellhead for easy access to the well
▶ Monitoring system analyzes unit vibration, belt tracking, rod load, and rod position with parameter-based alarm and shut-down capabilities
Pumping Unit Description
▶ Field proven mechanical reversing mechanism ensures safe and reliable operation.
▶ Long stroke and low SPM to achieve high pump efficiency by fewer cycles. Up to 366-inch stroke length leads to high pump fill age and less operational costs.
▶ Fewer cycles mean less energy consumption, less wear on production strings and less down time.
▶ Long stroke and virtually no minimum speed help reduce lower dynamic loading significantly.

▶ The short radius of the torque arm reduces required torque demand and allows the use of a smaller prime mover and gear reducer, which can cut down energy costs by 10% to 30% compared to other artificial lift systems.
